27.08.2024 | Austrian competition authority

The BWB and BAK introduced a two-day seminar titled 'Compliance Compass for Municipalities: Guideline for Legal Certainty in Procurement & Acquisition' to help decision-makers in cities and municipalities navigate procurement procedures effectively. Experts will cover key aspects to consider during procurement processes, common pitfalls, risk mitigation strategies, and recent legal updates.

The seminar aims to educate participants on antitrust laws, procurement regulations, corruption prevention, and compliance in the context of cartels, public procurement, and anti-corruption efforts. Attendees will receive practical insights and guidance from BWB and BAK experts on current legal issues related to municipal procurement procedures.

The cooperation agreement signed by BWB's Competition Director, Natalie Harsdorf, and BAK's Director, Otto Kerbl, focuses on combating corruption, cartels, and bid-rigging. The joint efforts aim to enhance awareness, prevention, and education in these areas, with the Compliance Seminar marking the beginning of their collaborative work.
