The Polish competition authority, UOKiK, is currently accepting applications for its third edition of the Summer Camp, a series of free workshops focused on competition law. This initiative is aimed at law and economics students, providing them with a unique opportunity to learn about the workings of UOKiK and engage with experts in the field.
The Summer Camp will take place from September 15 to 19, 2025, at UOKiK's headquarters in Warsaw. A maximum of 25 students, who are at least in their second year of law, economics, or related fields, will be selected to participate. The program includes accommodation and meals for attendees.
Participants are required to submit a 90-second video introducing themselves and explaining their motivation for joining the Summer Camp, along with an essay titled “Why and how to protect competition in the modern economy?” The submissions will be evaluated, and the best candidates will gain valuable insights into various aspects of competition law, including merger control, unfair practices, and abuse of dominance.
Additionally, top participants may receive job offers for internships at UOKiK, with the potential for longer-term employment. UOKiK President Tomasz Chróstny emphasized the educational value of the Summer Camp, which has previously received recognition for its engaging format.
Moreover, students studying law or economics are encouraged to participate in a separate competition for the best master's and doctoral theses, with a prize pool of 84,000 PLN and opportunities for internships at UOKiK.
