The European Commission has initiated a public consultation to gather feedback on the effectiveness of the Digital Markets Act, aiming to assess its impact and readiness for future challenges.

02.07.2025 | European Commission DMA Unit

On July 3, 2025, the European Commission launched a public consultation as part of the first review of the Digital Markets Act (DMA). This initiative aims to gather insights from a wide range of stakeholders, including EU citizens, small and medium-sized enterprises, business organizations, and other interested parties.

The Commission has noted a positive impact from the DMA thus far but is keen to understand how effective it has been and whether it is prepared to tackle emerging challenges, particularly with the rise of AI-powered services. Feedback from the consultation will inform a review report that assesses the DMA's impact to date.

Interested parties have until September 24, 2025, to submit their views. The Commission is mandated to conduct a comprehensive review of the DMA by May 3, 2026, and to continue this process every three years. The findings will be presented to the European Parliament, the Council, and the European Economic and Social Committee.
