The Norwegian competition authority has granted approval for Karo Healthcare to acquire Aco Hud Nordic, provided that Karo Healthcare sells the Locobase brand in the Nordic market. This sale was proposed as a remedy to address competition concerns related to the merger.

Karo Healthcare has successfully entered into an agreement with a third party to purchase the Locobase brand, which meets the authority's requirements for an independent and suitable buyer. Marita Mæland Skjæveland, a director at the competition authority, expressed optimism about the new entrant's willingness to compete in the skincare market.

With the approval granted, the competition authority has concluded its investigation, lifting the prohibition on the merger. The timeline of the case included notifications and assessments from October 2025 to April 2026, culminating in the final approval of the remedial measures.
