The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has announced the appointment of Gráinne Griffin as Ireland's Financial Literacy Ambassador. This role complements her position as Director of Financial Education at the CCPC.

Griffin's appointment is part of the European Commission's EU Financial Literacy Strategy, which seeks to improve financial literacy among citizens in Member States. As an ambassador, Griffin will promote financial education and support the implementation of Ireland's National Financial Literacy Strategy.

Tánaiste and Minister for Finance, Simon Harris, expressed his confidence in Griffin's ability to make financial literacy accessible and relevant to the public. He emphasized the importance of informed financial decision-making for managing everyday finances and planning for the future.

CCPC Chairperson Brian McHugh praised Griffin's commitment to empowering consumers and highlighted the CCPC's dedication to promoting financial education through its newly established Financial Education Division.

Griffin herself expressed her honor in taking on the ambassador role, emphasizing the significance of financial literacy as a crucial life skill that aids individuals in making informed decisions and planning for their financial futures.
