The CNMC has introduced two interactive maps on its website that display the available capacity in Spain's electrical networks. One map focuses on generation capacity while the other addresses demand capacity.

Previously, users seeking this information had to navigate through the websites of individual companies. The new maps allow users to easily filter and access data based on various criteria, including distribution/transmission manager, province, voltage level, and the number of available positions at substations.

These maps integrate previously scattered information and will be updated monthly. However, users must still direct their requests for access and connection permits to the relevant network manager, as stipulated by the legislation governing electricity network access.

The data for these maps has been compiled from information that network managers are required to submit to the CNMC, in compliance with Circular 6/2025, dated October 7.
