The Austrian competition authority (AFCA) has announced the appointment of Corinna Potocnik-Manzouri as the Head of the Market and Cartel Screening Unit, effective November 1, 2025. This unit was established in 2025 to identify and address conduct that restricts or distorts competition.

Director General Natalie Harsdorf expressed her satisfaction with the appointment, highlighting the importance of the unit in enhancing competition enforcement through a combination of legal, economic, and digital expertise. Potocnik-Manzouri has been leading the unit on an interim basis since April 1, 2025, and has been with the AFCA since 2022.

Before joining the AFCA, Potocnik-Manzouri worked as a university assistant at the Department of European Law at the University of Vienna and has experience in various business law firms both in Austria and internationally. She is recognized for her contributions to the field, having authored numerous publications and served as an external lecturer at the University of Vienna.
