The Greek Competition Authority (HCC) celebrated its 30th anniversary with an international professional conference in Athens, where the president of the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH), Csaba Balázs Rigó, highlighted the importance of international cooperation in competition policy.
During the conference, a bilateral cooperation agreement was signed between the GVH and HCC, aimed at enhancing professional relations and knowledge sharing between the two authorities. The event also provided a platform for discussing the evolution of competition law over the past 30 years, particularly in Greece and Europe.
Rigó emphasized that intense yet fair market competition is fundamental to modern economies and competitiveness. He noted the significant progress in competition policy and law in Central and Eastern Europe over the past three decades, which underpins the region's competitive potential.
The GVH is actively involved in various international networks, including the European Competition Network (ECN) and the International Competition Network (ICN), and has been working closely with the OECD for over 20 years. The recent agreement with the HCC aims to further strengthen their collaboration in addressing global challenges.
