The President of the Polish competition authority (UOKiK) has ordered a search at Allegro's headquarters in Poznań and its offices in Warsaw, following suspicions of potential competition rule violations.
The investigation focuses on Allegro's possible favoritism towards its own delivery methods, particularly concerning Allegro One Box and services from businesses in the Allegro Delivery program, which may disadvantage other courier companies.
UOKiK President Tomasz Chróstny highlighted that the changes in default pickup points for customers could indicate anti-competitive behavior. The authority has gathered substantial evidence during the search, which is currently under detailed analysis.
If the evidence confirms the suspicions, UOKiK may initiate antitrust proceedings against specific entities, with potential fines of up to 10% of the company's turnover for participation in anti-competitive agreements.
UOKiK is also encouraging whistleblowers to report any practices that may restrict competition through an anonymous reporting system.
