On March 17, 2026, Rigó Csaba Balázs took the oath of office after being reappointed as the president of the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) for another six years. His reappointment was proposed by the Prime Minister and supported by the Economic Committee of the National Assembly.

During his first term, which began on April 15, 2020, the GVH closed 234 competition supervision procedures, imposing over 40 billion HUF in fines. The authority also provided significant fine reductions and direct consumer compensation totaling over 10 billion HUF.

Balázs emphasized the GVH's impact, stating that their activities resulted in over 104 billion HUF in social benefits for consumers, which is more than double the GVH's annual budget. His professional background includes various roles in public service and academia, showcasing his extensive experience in competition law and public procurement.
