UAB 'DOJUS forest', a newly established company founded in 2024, is planning to acquire SIA 'Haitek Latvia', which specializes in the distribution of forestry equipment and its spare parts in Latvia. The merger aims to consolidate their operations in the forestry machinery sector.
Currently, UAB 'DOJUS forest' operates through its related company, SIA 'DOJUS Latvija', which primarily focuses on the sale of agricultural machinery, equipment leasing, and operational leasing. While SIA 'DOJUS Latvija' sells new harvester heads, it does not distribute the actual forestry machinery, creating a limited overlap in their business activities.
The Competition Council (KP) is required to make a decision regarding the merger within one month of receiving the notification. If further in-depth investigation is necessary, this period may be extended up to three months.
Market participants and other interested parties are invited to provide their opinions on the potential impact of the merger on competition by January 17, 2025. Feedback can be sent to the KP's senior expert Vita Ozere or submitted through the KP's website.
