The President of the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has initiated an investigative procedure regarding potential anticompetitive practices in the sale of Xiaomi products, with raids conducted at the company's premises.

The President of UOKiK, Tomasz Chróstny, revealed concerns about possible price-fixing agreements involving Xiaomi's Mi, Redmi, Redmi Note, and POCO devices. The investigation includes raids at Xiaomi Poland and two distributors, focusing on suspected illegal price coordination in consumer electronics, home appliances, and smart products. If evidence confirms the suspicions, formal antitrust proceedings may follow, potentially leading to financial penalties of up to 10% of the company's turnover. The leniency program offers a chance for involved parties to reduce or avoid fines by cooperating with UOKiK as witnesses and providing evidence of the anticompetitive behavior.
