The Swedish Competition Authority's decision to block Apotekstjänst's acquisition of Svensk dos has been upheld by the Patent and Market Court, citing concerns about reduced competition in the market for dose dispensing services for outpatient care in Sweden.

The Swedish Competition Authority's decision to prohibit Apotekstjänst's acquisition of Svensk dos has been confirmed by the Patent and Market Court, preventing the deal from proceeding. The court ruled that the acquisition would harm competition in the market for dose dispensing services for outpatient care in Sweden.

Apotekstjänst filed a notification in November 2023 to acquire sole control over Svensk dos, but the Competition Authority found that the deal would impede effective competition. Despite arguments that Svensk dos might exit the market anyway, the court rejected the appeal and maintained the prohibition.

The parties have until December 10, 2024, to appeal the Patent and Market Court's decision. The prohibition on the acquisition will not apply to specific subcontractor agreements until December 19, 2024, due to patient safety concerns.
