Martijn Snoep Reappointed as ACM Chairman for New Term
Martijn Snoep has been reappointed as Chairman of the Board of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), effective September 1, 2025.

The Dutch Council of Ministers has officially reappointed Martijn Snoep as the Chairman of the Board of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). His new term is set to commence on September 1, 2025, following a positive recommendation from ACM’s Advisory Board.
The Board of ACM also includes members Manon Leijten and Martijn Ridderbos, who expressed their enthusiasm for continuing their collaborative efforts under Snoep's leadership. They emphasized the importance of collegiality and expertise in navigating the current economic challenges.
In his statement, Mr. Snoep highlighted the critical role of ACM in ensuring that markets function effectively for consumers and businesses. He stressed the importance of combating market power to facilitate necessary economic transitions, which he believes will foster innovation and enhance the resilience of the Dutch economy against external pressures.
Martijn Snoep has been serving as the Chairman of ACM since September 1, 2018. His responsibilities encompass competition, strategy, communications, and legal affairs. Prior to his role at ACM, he spent 28 years at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, where he advised on competition law both in the Netherlands and internationally.
