The Spanish competition authority, CNMC, has released findings from its latest survey indicating that high-speed train services, particularly AVE, are the most highly rated by users. The survey, part of the Panel de Hogares, shows that 16.9% of Spaniards traveled on AVE trains at least once in the past year.

While high-speed services like Ouigo and Iryo also gained traction, with 13% of users, overall satisfaction with rail services has declined, especially for conventional and medium-distance trains. The AVE service received a satisfaction rating of 58%, followed closely by Ouigo and Iryo at 56%.

However, dissatisfaction has risen, particularly regarding pricing, with 36% of AVE users expressing concerns about ticket costs. The survey also noted an increase in complaints across various services, with AVE leading at 16.4% of users filing complaints.

In comparison to the previous year, complaints have surged for services like Avlo and Avant, indicating growing consumer dissatisfaction in the rail sector.
