The Bundeskartellamt has approved the acquisition of significant assets of Gigaset Communications GmbH by Snom Solutions GmbH, a subsidiary of VTech Group, in the landline phone sector. Gigaset, under insolvency proceedings, and VTech operate in the landline phone business. While there are overlaps in the professional use segment, the investigation found enough alternative suppliers like Mitel, RTX, and Ascom Wireless. The acquisition is not expected to harm competition significantly.
