EnergieDirect Austria GmbH has voluntarily committed to the Fairness Catalogue for electricity and gas suppliers, a set of principles established by the Austrian Federal Competition Authority (BWB) and E-Control. This commitment highlights the company's dedication to enhancing competition and protecting consumer interests in the retail energy market.

The Fairness Catalogue aims to improve transparency and trust by requiring participating companies to present their products and prices clearly, treat all customers equally, and promote competition. By going beyond minimum legal requirements, these companies help foster a fair and well-functioning energy market.

The initiative was developed following insights from the Energy Task Force, which identified issues such as a lack of transparency, complex tariff structures, and sudden price changes that hindered consumer decision-making. The Fairness Catalogue addresses these challenges with eight practical principles for suppliers.

Director General of the BWB, Natalie Harsdorf, expressed her hope that other companies will follow EnergieDirect's lead in adopting these principles. Rober Lang, Managing Director of EnergieDirect, emphasized the importance of fair customer relationships as part of a sustainable business strategy.

The Fairness Catalogue is accessible on the websites of the BWB and E-Control, allowing other electricity and gas suppliers to voluntarily commit to its principles at any time.
