The Croatian Competition Agency (CCA) has opened an infringement proceeding against Agronom d.o.o., an agricultural supplies store based in Požega, under the Act on prohibition of unfair trading practices (UTPs Act). This action aims to assess whether Agronom has exploited its strong bargaining power to impose unfair conditions on its suppliers of agricultural and food products.

This investigation follows a preliminary inquiry into the agri-food market, particularly focusing on the compliance of wheat buyers with the UTPs Act. Agronom's practices are under scrutiny as part of this broader examination of the market.

It is important to note that the initiation of this administrative procedure does not imply that Agronom's practices are confirmed as unfair. The CCA will conduct a thorough investigation into the nature of the business transactions between Agronom and its suppliers before reaching a conclusion. The agency will consider all relevant facts and evidence before making a final decision.

Due to confidentiality obligations, the CCA is unable to provide further details or comments regarding the ongoing investigation. The final decision will be made public on the CCA's official website once concluded.
