Bart Broers will take on the role of Director of the Information and Digital Services Department and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) starting January 1, 2026. This new department will focus on ensuring reliable and secure digital workspaces and will oversee various aspects of digital information services, including IT management and information security.

Martijn Ridderbos, a member of ACM's Board, expressed enthusiasm about Broers' appointment, highlighting his expertise in oversight and information services. Ridderbos emphasized the importance of Broers' network in helping ACM fulfill its mission of ensuring well-functioning markets for all.

Broers, who previously served as the Director of ACM’s i-Domain program department, is eager to continue the digital transformation journey that ACM has embarked on. He believes that enhancing ACM's IT capabilities is crucial for the organization's innovativeness and resilience, as well as for the Dutch government as a whole.

Before his current role, Broers held various positions within ACM and other organizations, including the Health Care Department and VU University Amsterdam. His academic background includes a PhD in physics and an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management.

The appointment was made through the standard procedure for positions within the Dutch Senior Civil Service, and no job opening was created due to Broers' existing role in the i-Domain program department.
