CNMC supports State Pact proposal to protect minors on the internet and social media

The CNMC has joined a State Pact proposal aimed at recognizing the access of minors to harmful content on the internet and social media as a public health issue.

The CNMC has joined a proposal for a State Pact that aims to address the problem of minors accessing harmful content on the internet and social media. The proposal includes measures to limit access to inappropriate content and strengthen institutions responsible for protecting the rights of children and adolescents in the digital sphere, including the CNMC. The CNMC is currently conducting a public consultation on criteria for verifying that video platforms prevent minors from accessing harmful content. The proposal has received support from over a hundred companies, foundations, and institutions, including the Spanish Data Protection Agency and the General Prosecutor's Office.
