The Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Croatia are pleased to announce the second edition of the international conference titled 'MEET TO COMPETE – REPEAT: Competition Law and Policy Conference'. This event will take place on May 14-15, 2026, at the Hotel Ambasador in Opatija, supported by the Croatian Competition Agency.
The conference will feature discussions on current topics led by representatives from competition law enforcement agencies, experts, regulators, practitioners, and legal advisors. It aims to explore how competition law can remain reliable, relevant, and adaptable in today's dynamic digital environment.
The first day will focus on mergers between companies, the regulation of foreign subsidies, the application of the 'effects-based' approach in competition law enforcement, and a review of regional developments. Notable speakers will include members from the European Commission's Directorate-General for Competition, national competition authorities, OECD representatives, university professors, lawyers, and other competition law experts.
The second day will consist of workshops on compliance with competition rules, led by renowned Croatian lawyers. Topics will include determining resale price maintenance (RPM), other vertical restrictions, horizontal agreements, and the abuse of dominant positions. These workshops are primarily aimed at business owners, managers, corporate lawyers, and other employees from the region, to enhance their understanding and prevention of anti-competitive practices, thereby increasing awareness of the importance of compliance with competition rules.
