E-commerce in Spain Surges to Over €29 Billion in Q3 2025

Spain's e-commerce revenue reached €29.3 billion in the third quarter of 2025, marking a 19.3% increase from the previous year, according to the CNMC.

The Spanish competition authority, CNMC, reported that e-commerce in Spain exceeded €29.3 billion in the third quarter of 2025, reflecting a significant year-on-year growth of 19.3%.

The sectors generating the highest revenue included travel agencies and tour operators, accounting for 10.8% of total sales, followed by the air transport sector at 6.6%.

In terms of transactions, over 508 million were recorded, representing a 14.8% increase, with gambling and betting leading the category at 8.8%.

Geographically, 46.5% of the revenue was generated from within Spain, while 53.4% came from purchases made abroad by Spanish consumers. The net external balance showed a deficit of €11.3 billion.

Transactions originating from Spain and directed abroad amounted to €15.65 billion, up 11.4% from the previous year, with 94.4% of these purchases made from EU-based merchants.

Overall, the e-commerce sector within Spain saw a 29.8% increase, reaching €9.3 billion, with public administration and social security leading the domestic revenue at 9.3%.
