The Belgian Competition Authority has approved Parkwind's acquisition of sole control over Nobelwind and Northwester 2, citing limited market overlap and compliance with simplified procedures.

On April 21, 2026, the Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) announced its approval of Parkwind's acquisition of sole control over Nobelwind and Northwester 2. The acquisition was notified on April 15, 2026, and the BCA applied a simplified procedure due to the limited market position of the involved parties.

Parkwind, established in 2012, focuses on the development, financing, construction, and operation of offshore wind farms. Nobelwind and Northwester 2, operational since 2017 and 2020 respectively, also operate in the offshore wind sector within the Belgian Exclusive Economic Zone, primarily engaged in electricity production and sales.

The BCA determined that the conditions for the simplified procedure were met, as the merger posed no significant competitive concerns due to the limited overlap in activities between the companies. Consequently, the concentration was approved without objections.
