The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has been inundated with complaints concerning the charges and conditions set by Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, which are scheduled to take effect on April 1, 2025.
Due to the volume of complaints, ACM has indicated that it will need more time to evaluate these issues, meaning that a decision will be made after the new charges come into effect. As a result, the charges will initially be implemented as planned.
ACM anticipates that a decision regarding the complaints will be reached by mid-April, with the official announcement expected in May. Depending on the outcome, if ACM finds that the charges violate legal standards, Schiphol will be required to revise its charges within four weeks, retroactively effective from April 1. Conversely, if the charges are deemed compliant, they will remain unchanged.
