The Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC) has issued a report advocating for changes to the regulations governing ultralight aviation and land transport concessions. This initiative is aimed at reducing barriers to entry for operators and promoting competition in these sectors.

In the realm of ultralight aviation, the proposed reforms seek to align national legislation with European standards, thereby enhancing the international competitiveness of the sector. The CNMC views these changes positively, as they simplify administrative processes and facilitate market access for holders of European licenses.

For land transport, the CNMC supports the proposed modifications that would allow for a more flexible concession regime. This includes enabling the joint solvency of companies participating in bids, which is expected to encourage more operators to enter the market.

Additionally, the CNMC has made several recommendations to improve competition and regulatory principles, such as clarifying licensing equivalence requirements in ultralight aviation and ensuring that collaborative bidding does not restrict competition in land transport.
