27.03.2025 | Luxembourg competition authority

The Luxembourg Competition Authority hosted a seminar for University of Luxembourg students, focusing on the enforcement of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Authority's role in digital markets.

On March 27, the Luxembourg Competition Authority organized a seminar aimed at educating students from the University of Luxembourg about the enforcement of the Digital Services Act (DSA). The event was part of the TechLaw Course offered to students pursuing a Master in Space, Communication and Media Law.

The seminar commenced with a welcome speech from Vice-President Marco Estanqueiro, who set the stage for the discussions that followed. Romy Schaus and Alexandre Gonçalves, both legal counsels at the Authority, provided insights into the Authority's responsibilities concerning competition and digital markets.

As part of their coursework, each student presented an overview of a Digital Services Coordinator (DSC) or a foreign regulatory system of their choice, showcasing their understanding of the DSA's implications.

The seminar concluded with a presentation from the Online Platforms team, detailing the Authority's role as the DSC for Luxembourg, its cooperation at the EU level, and the daily operations of a national authority in enforcing the DSA.

The Luxembourg Competition Authority expressed its gratitude to Professor Mark D. Cole and his students for their engagement and wished them success in their academic endeavors.
