The Hungarian Competition Authority has appointed Dr. Ay Zoltán and retained Dr. Kőhalmi Attila as members of its Competition Council, effective October 1, 2025.

The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) has announced the appointment of Dr. Ay Zoltán and the continuation of Dr. Kőhalmi Attila as members of its Competition Council, effective October 1, 2025. This decision was made by President Dr. Sulyok Tamás based on the recommendation of GVH President Rigó Csaba Balázs.

Dr. Ay Zoltán brings over twenty years of legal experience, including more than fifteen years in competition law. He has been with the GVH since 2005, serving in various roles including as a lead investigator and head of the Court Representation Office. His expertise includes significant consumer protection and cartel cases.

Dr. Kőhalmi Attila, who has been a member of the Competition Council since 2013, has a strong background in law and economics. He has held various judicial positions and has been involved in financial dispute resolution. This marks the beginning of his third six-year term on the Council.

The Competition Council is responsible for making substantive decisions in competition supervision procedures and reviewing appeals against the decisions made by investigators. The Council operates independently, ensuring that its decisions are made based on legal standards and personal convictions.
