The International Competition Network (ICN) is set to host its 22nd Annual Conference in Barcelona, organized by the Spanish National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC). Scheduled from October 18 to 20, 2023, this year's conference is expected to see record participation, with representatives from close to 100 jurisdictions attending.
The ICN is recognized as the leading global network of competition authorities, comprising over 140 competition agencies. Andreas Mundt, the ICN Chair and President of the Bundeskartellamt, emphasized the importance of the ICN's collaborative efforts in addressing both traditional antitrust issues and emerging cross-cutting topics in today's complex environment.
During the conference, participants will engage in Working Group sessions to discuss various themes, including the interaction between competition and judicial systems, the intersection of competition and data, food markets with a focus on developing countries, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. Notably, Mundt will speak at a session titled “Intersection between Competition & Privacy” on October 19.
For those unable to attend in person, the plenary sessions will be livestreamed, allowing broader access to the discussions without the need for prior registration.
