The President of the Greek Competition Authority, Irini Sharp, took part in the 10th Delphi Economic Forum, engaging in a discussion titled 'Competitiveness and Democracy: A Complex Relationship' alongside journalist Ioanna Mandrou.

During the discussion, Sharp emphasized the critical role that competition plays in enhancing democracy and economic growth. She pointed out that independent competition authorities are essential in maintaining institutional balance and fostering innovation.

Sharp highlighted that the Competition Authority operates independently and without discrimination, imposing significant fines on both Greek and multinational companies, which are collected by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue. She also noted that the Authority ranks among the top competition authorities globally, demonstrating its capability to stand alongside similar European institutions.
