The Slovak competition authority, known as PMÚ, commenced administrative proceedings on July 6, 2026, to evaluate a concentration involving two related transactions in the pharmacy sector.

The first transaction involves the acquisition of joint control by Družstvo Litostratus and UNIPHARMA - 1. slovenská lekárnická akciová spoločnosť over a group of 13 pharmacies under the FARMAKOL brand located in various cities including Košice, Michalovce, and others.

The second transaction pertains to the joint control acquisition by KROUP s. r. o. and UNIPHARMA over another group of 13 FARMAKOL pharmacies situated in cities such as Prešov, Poprad, and Banská Bystrica.
