The Lithuanian competition authority has granted approval for a merger in the travel organization market, allowing businessman Neşet Koçkar to acquire a 9.99% stake in Novaturas. This acquisition will increase his total ownership to 33.2%, enabling him to assume sole control of the company.

The merger notification was submitted on 13 November 2025. After reviewing the transaction, the Competition Council determined that the merger would not create or strengthen a dominant position or significantly restrict competition in the relevant markets.

Baltic World, a Latvian company linked to investor N. Koçkar, offers holiday packages in Lithuania, sells airline tickets, and sometimes provides standalone hotel bookings through its subsidiary, Anextour Lietuva. Novaturas, on the other hand, provides travel agency services in Lithuania, sells airline tickets, and occasionally sells hotel reservations.

The merger was required to be notified to the Competition Council as the combined total revenues of the involved companies exceeded EUR 20 million, with at least two of the companies having revenues exceeding EUR 2 million in the year prior to the merger.
