The Greek competition authority has extended the deadline for public comments on its regulatory intervention in the fuel sector until October 15, 2025.

15.09.2025 | Greek competition authority

The Greek competition authority has initiated a regulatory intervention in the fuel sector, focusing on the competitive conditions in the production and distribution stages, including refining, marketing, and retailing of essential fuel products such as unleaded gasoline 95, diesel, and heating oil.

This intervention is particularly significant as it pertains to basic necessities with low price elasticity of demand.

On July 9, 2025, the authority published its second opinions, which include proposed measures and invited stakeholders to contribute to the public consultation until September 26, 2025.

The deadline for submitting comments has now been extended to October 15, 2025.

Any individual can participate in the public consultation, regardless of legal interest. Legal entities must submit their comments through their authorized representatives.

All observations and opinions from interested parties are welcome, especially those that may provide useful information for the authority's decision-making process.

Interested parties are encouraged to submit their comments electronically in an editable format to fuels@epant.gr by the new deadline.
