The Czech competition authority has granted approval for the merger between PPF Real Estate s.r.o. and Diplomat Prague RE s.r.o., along with the operations of Hotels by HR Diplomat s.r.o. This decision, made at the first instance, has already become legally binding.

PPF Real Estate is part of a larger holding group involved in various sectors, particularly real estate and development projects. The group also provides hotel accommodation and related services in the Czech Republic through its subsidiaries.

Diplomat Prague RE primarily operates the Diplomat Prague hotel and offers additional services, including rental of multifunctional conference and event spaces. The Hotels by HR Diplomat division manages operations related to the hotel.

Both merging parties are active in the hotel industry, with Diplomat Prague operating a 4-star hotel, while PPF manages several hotels, including 5-star establishments like Hilton Prague and Four Seasons Hotel Prague, as well as the 4-star Stages Hotel Prague, all located in Prague.

The authority assessed the merger's impact on the hotel operation and event space rental sectors, finding no potential for significant competition disruption.
