On September 28, a meeting took place at the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) in Poland with representatives from the German competition authority, Bundeskartellamt. This visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to exchange experiences and discuss practical aspects of their operations.

Particular attention was given to artificial intelligence and new technologies. Experts from both Poland and Germany discussed how these advancements can support competition law enforcement and the opportunities and challenges they present for competition authorities.

The meeting also covered the organization of teams conducting investigations, including collaboration between lawyers and economists, as well as the use of economic analyses. Experiences related to enforcing competition law in labor markets and the digital sector were also discussed.

UOKiK and Bundeskartellamt maintain ongoing contact, and the direct exchange of knowledge and experiences between competition authorities is a crucial element of European cooperation aimed at effective competition law enforcement.
