The Croatian Competition Agency has approved PODRAVKA AGRI's acquisition of several agricultural and food production companies, determining it will not harm competition in the market.

The Croatian Competition Agency (CCA) has cleared the concentration involving PODRAVKA AGRI d.o.o. acquiring control over several companies, including BELJE plus d.o.o., PIK VINKOVCI plus d.o.o., and others. This decision was made in the first phase of the review process.

PODRAVKA AGRI, part of the Podravka Group, will gain direct control over these companies, which were previously part of the Fortenova Group. The acquired businesses primarily focus on agricultural production and food manufacturing, covering areas such as livestock breeding, crop farming, and the production of various food products.

The concentration is expected to impact several markets in Croatia, including the production and wholesale of arable crops, vegetable crops, dairy products, processed meat, and wine. The CCA assessed the market structure, existing competition, and potential consumer benefits before reaching its conclusion.

After a public request for information yielded no responses, the CCA determined that the merger would not create or strengthen a dominant market position, thus allowing the concentration to proceed without antitrust concerns.
