The Croatian competition authority is hosting its annual international conference on November 7, 2025, at the Dubrovnik Hotel in Zagreb, from 9 AM to 3 PM.

This conference will gather leading domestic and international experts in the field of competition law to discuss current challenges and trends shaping the regulatory framework and practices in Croatia, the European Union, and beyond.

The program will begin with an introductory speech by Mr. Orija Schwartz, head of the Competition Sector at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), who will present an overview of key issues faced by regulatory bodies in an era of rapid market changes.

Following this, there will be two thematic panel discussions focusing on new trends in merger assessments and the challenges of aligning business practices with competition law in the digital environment.

Confirmed panel participants include prominent representatives from European competition authorities, such as Daniele Calisti from the European Commission (DG COMP), Andrej Matvoz, president of the Slovenian competition authority, Nuno Cunha Rodrigues, president of the Portuguese authority, and Bogdan Marius Chiritoiu, president of the Romanian Competition Council. Numerous domestic and international experts will also contribute to the discussions through dialogue and experience sharing.

The conference is aimed at all those who encounter competition law issues in their work, including legal and business professionals, academics, and public institution representatives. This event presents a unique opportunity for knowledge exchange, insights into new regulatory trends in competition law, and networking with relevant participants from Croatia and abroad.

Due to limited seating, interested parties are encouraged to reserve their participation in advance.
