The Polish competition authority has recently focused on the safety of chain saws as part of its ongoing commitment to consumer protection. During an inspection, they evaluated ten different models of chain saws, examining their labeling and construction.
Out of the ten models tested, three electric chain saws were found to have damage from falls, while four gas-powered models exhibited improper guards. These defects raise significant safety concerns, including risks of electric shock, fire, or injury to users.
Agnieszka Kowalska from the UOKiK Communication Department emphasized the importance of safety when using such equipment, especially as many consumers prepare wood for winter or tidy up their gardens.
