The Latvian competition authority, known as the Competition Council, has received a merger notification from SIA CODEX regarding its intention to acquire decisive influence over SIA Visma Consulting. This proposed merger is significant as both companies operate in the same market, providing full-cycle development services for custom information systems to public institutions and both state and private enterprises.

SIA CODEX specializes in creating tailored information systems and also offers maintenance and consulting services related to these systems. Similarly, SIA Visma Consulting provides comparable services, indicating a direct overlap in their business activities.

The Competition Council is required to make a decision on the merger within one month of receiving the notification. However, if a more in-depth investigation is necessary, this period can be extended up to three months. Stakeholders and market participants are encouraged to submit their opinions on the potential impact of the merger on competition by July 25, 2025.
