The Dutch competition authority has ordered trade associations in the chiropractic sector to stop interfering with their members' discount policies, enabling practices to offer better pricing to clients.

The Dutch competition authority, known as ACM, has taken action against trade associations in the chiropractic sector for their interference in the discount policies of their member practices. This interference limited the ability of chiropractic practices to freely offer discounts or provide complimentary examinations to their clients.

As a result of ACM's intervention, the trade associations have amended their bylaws. This change allows chiropractic practices to set their own pricing strategies, including the ability to offer reduced prices and free exams to clients. The decision is expected to enhance competition within the sector and ultimately benefit consumers.
