Mickie Schoch will begin her role as Director of the Telecommunications, Transport and Postal Services Department at the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) on December 1, 2025. Her appointment was announced by Manon Leijten, a member of ACM's Board, who expressed excitement about Schoch's extensive experience and economic expertise.

Schoch emphasized the importance of ACM's work, which impacts every Dutch citizen, and expressed her eagerness to contribute to the organization’s mission. She highlighted the relevance of ACM's oversight in various sectors, including digital platforms, telecommunications, and public transport.

The Telecommunications, Transport and Postal Services Department is tasked with overseeing both traditional and digital markets, especially in light of new European regulations like the Digital Services Act and the Platform-to-Business regulation. Schoch will face the challenge of enforcing these new rules while also helping to professionalize ACM as a mission-driven regulator.

Before her appointment, Schoch served as Director of Tax Policy at the Dutch Ministry of Finance and has held various roles within the ministry since 2009. She has also gained international experience at the United Nations and holds degrees in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and Oxford University.

The recruitment process for her position was conducted by the Dutch Senior Civil Service, ensuring a wide publication of the job posting to allow for a diverse pool of applicants.
