Additionally, the authority is interested in the use of data for market monitoring and cartel detection, as well as ex-post evaluations of decisions made by competition authorities.

When evaluating applications, the authority will consider the researchers' expertise in the field, the feasibility of the project, its relevance to the call for proposals, and the project costs. Both one-year and two-year projects can be applied for, with funding and disbursement following the guidelines for grants for competition-related research.

To apply for the research funding, applicants must submit a project description to the Norwegian competition authority by the deadline of April 11, 2025. The application should include contact information, a project description with a timeline, the project's value, details on who will be responsible for execution, a budget, and information on any other received support.
